Inaugural Innovation Fair shows off students work to parent, staff, community members

The first-ever Manor ISD Innovation Fair brought student’s work out of the classroom and into the spotlight this past Saturday, Dec. 15. Hundreds of parents, students, staff, and community members saw dozens of projects and presentations ranging in subjects from architecture to social studies to biology.
Projects by students on display included a windmill that charged a cell phone, earthquake-resistant buildings, and models of “cities of the future.” Visitors also enjoyed performances from Manor ISD Fine Arts students, a demonstration from the New Tech High robotics team, and even some livestock from the Future Farmers of America.
The event began with a keynote presentation from Texas State Professor Dr. Cindy Royal, founder of the university’s Media Innovation Center, as well as addresses from Superintendent Dr. Royce Avery and Career and Technical Education Director Barry Bacom, who organized the event.
Thank you to all the hardworking students, staff, and community members who made the Innovation Fair a huge success!
